Handmade bricks often date from around the 1800's to the early 1900's. As the name suggests, handmade brick were moulded by hand in wooden moulds then placed to dry in the firing kilns.
A certain amount of distortion and shrinkage took place during firing which gives handmade bricks a unique look.
We buy old barns that we carefully strip by hand in order to salvage as much timber as we can.
